Special Guests - The Blackfords!

We had some of our very special friends visit us this week from Maryland. Lisa and Amber Blackford came to visit during Amber's spring break week from college. We celebrated Amber's 21st birthday! I remember when Amber was born and babysitting her!! She was a beautiful baby and is beautiful now, of course!! Amber is always a great person to be around! Bill, Amber's dad, was my youth pastor; and Lisa was my piano teacher for many years. I have been blessed to have them involved in my life growing up. They were and still are such an example to me of Christ and what it means to truly follow Him with your whole heart. I continue to remember the love, kindness and patience they showed me. The Lord has blessed our families with a great friendship that still continues, even after we moved to Georgia almost 18 years ago. We are so thankful that even though we can't see each other as often as we would like, we are always able to "pick-up where we left off."
Lauren and Anna really enjoyed playing with Amber. Amber loves children and is studying to be a teacher. She graciously plays with them. Lauren's favorite game to play with Amber is hide and seek. They made funny "owl calls" to help find each other. Almost everytime Amber comes to visit we play miniature golf. This time Lauren joined the fun and played miniature golf for the first time!! She loved it! Although, it was more like hockey for Lauren! We noticed that even though Lauren writes left handed, she may play sports right handed. It was hard to keep Lauren away from the all the flowing water decorations at the miniature golf place. I'm prettyn sure she almost fell in several times! She came home and said, "I won the golf game Mommy! I did it!"
